A humorous novel following Mr. Jorrocks, the sporting cockney grocer.

Robert Smith Surtees (1805-1864) was an English editor and novelist, most widely known for his works featuring Jorrocks.

Undated; dated from copies held on Jisc.

Complete in two volumes.

Illustrated by Cecil Aldin, a British artists known for his sketches of sports and animals. With in-text illustrations and plates. Volume I contains twelve plates; Volume II contains eleven colour plates. Collated, complete.

A lovely and bright example of this work.

Condition

In the publisher's original full cloth binding. Externally very smart; spines are a little faded as to be expected. Slight edgewear. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are spotted throughout.
