'Handley Cross' follows the humorous activities of cockney grocer Mr Jorrocks, particularly focusing on his hunts. Written by English editor and sporting writer Robert Smith Surtees.
Condition
In the publisher's red cloth binding, with gilt illustration to the front boards. Externally, very smart, with slight rubbing and bumping to the extremities. Slight darkening to the spines. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright and clean, with offsetting to the endpapers and scattered spots throughout, heavier to the first and last few leaves. Tipped in contemporary inscribed slip to the front free endpaper of Vol I.
