Illustrated with a colour frontispiece and sixty-four coloured plates, with a folding map to the rear. Collated, complete.

In the publisher's original gilt cloth. 

This botanical work was written by Harold Stuart Thompson and provides a study on Alpine plants, with descriptions on what Alpine plants are, their habitats, cultivation, how to press them, and the various species with many illustrations depicting each. 

Undated, dated by the preface and copies held by the British Library.

Condition

In the publisher's original cloth. Externally very smart with a slight lean, minor rubbing to the extremities and joints and slight fading to the spine. Light offsetting to the endpapers with a past owner's signature to the front. Hinges starting. Internally generally firmly bound with the frontispiece starting. Pages very lightly age toned with occasional light spotting, heavier to the front and rear, and the odd ink notation and pressed flower mark.
