In this four-volume set, Kirkman presents an thorough account of the birds, nests and eggs found in the British Isles at the time of publication. The author provides a detailed description of the birds in question, accompanied by bright and colourful illustrations throughout.
Wonderfully illustrated, with two hundred brightly coloured plates and fifty eight in black and white across all four volumes.
Collated, complete.
Condition
Uniformly bound in half crushed morocco with cloth to the boards. Externally, very good, with light marks to the cloth and slight rubbing to the extremities. Spines are slightly faded. Heavier area of rubbing to the front board of volume IV. Internally, firmly bound. Signed to limitation page, volume I. Pages are bright, with light scattered spotting, heavier to the front and rear.
