Two volumes. Scarce editions. Dated from the British Library. This set includes: Songs of Experience A poetry collection including: Holy Thursday, The Angel, and The Garden of Love. Written by William Blake, an English poet, painter, and printmaker considered a seminal figure in the history of the Romantic Age. Hesperides A book of poems including: Cherry-Ripe, How Lilies Came White, and Not to Love. Written by Robert Herrick, an English lyric poet and Anglican cleric of the seventeenth century.
Condition
In the original paper covered boards. Externally, smart with light chipping and bumping to the extremities. Minor loss to the head and tail of the spine to volume two. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with the odd spot. Ink inscription to the front pastedown and endpaper of volume one.
