1911-1922 Street Accidents Caused by Vehicles
What Our Customers Say...
Description
First Edition, Publishers' Original Binding, Very Scarce
These eleven very scarce volumes detail 'the number of accidents resulting in death or personal injury known by the police to have been caused by vehicles in streets, roads, or public places'.
Each volume offers short, statistical tables giving police-recorded street accidents and casualties for a given year, including information on vehicle type (horse-drawn, motor, tram, bicycle, etc.).
Present here are the individual annual returns for 1911-1918, 1920, and 1922.
The aim of these annual returns was to inform legislators, local authorities, and the public about accident trends, guide road safety policy, and support debates on traffic control, road improvement, and policing.
