An early novelty children's book of American artist and author, Peter Newell, who was known for his unique and colourful children's books. His humorous depictions often appeared in Harper's Magazines, as well as providing illustrations for many new editions of children's books.
This particular tale is set on a steep hill, presenting baby Bobby sat in his runaway pram as it runs down the hill, causing mayhem. We see this entertained infant whizzing through construction sites, a brass band and a market, while knocking over anyone encountered on its way.
With bright, full-page coloured illustrations by the author.
With the ink inscription of Jr. C. Bishop.
Many pages are loose. Collated, complete.
