In decorative full cloth binding, a prize binding for the Wyggeston Grammar School for Girls, with a school crest in gilt to the rear board.
With 20 striking tipped in colour plates by prolific Hungarian illustrator William Pogany, with an additional abundance of colour and monochrome in text decorations throughout. Collated, complete.
Originally published in 1798 in Coleridge's 'Lyrical Ballads', the poem recounts the experience of a sailor who has returned from a long sea voyage, stopping a man on his way to a wedding ceremony to tell his story.
Condition
In full cloth binding. Externally, very smart. Shelf wear to extremities, most significant to the tail of the spine. Prize book plate to front paste down. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
