Dated from the British Library. Illustrated throughout with coloured frontispiece and seven colour plates, with many in-text sketches. Collated complete. A semi-fictional story of the life of a foxhound, with details on the hunt as a sporting pastime. Written by John Mills. Illustrated by William James Affleck Shepherd, an English illustrator known for his anthropomorphic animal cartoons and drawings.
Condition
In the original red cloth binding. Externally, smart with fading to the spine and boards. Light rubbing to the extremities. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean with light age toning to the endpapers. Contemporary ink inscription to the front endpaper.
