First edition. Illustrated with a colour frontispiece and eighteen colour plates. Collated complete. A charming book aimed at children covering flowers of the garden and countryside, written with the intention to teach children about nature. Written by Anne Constance Smedley, a British artist, playwright, author and founder of the International Association of Lyceum Clubs. Illustrated by her husband Maxwell Ashby Armfield, an English artist, illustrator and writer.

Condition

In the original quarter grey cloth binding with pictorial paper covered boards. Externally, sound with light rubbing and bumping to the extremities. Light fading to the spine and board edges resulting in minor chipping. Splits in the cloth to the joints resulting in fraying to the head of the spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with light scattered spotting.
