Bound in a red half calf, with matching red cloth boards and marbled endpapers.
Undated, dated from a copy held by the British Library.
With a monochrome portrait frontispiece.
Including Bacon's discussions on topics such as 'Truth', 'Nobility', 'Friendship', 'Nature in Men', 'Vain Glory', 'Suspicion' and 'Ambition', among others.
Condition
In a red half calf binding, with cloth boards. Externally, very smart. With fading to the spine and minimal rubbing to the extremities. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and generally clean, with the odd spot. Offsetting to the title page caused by frontispiece.
