First Edition, Illustrated, Publishers' Original Binding

Victor Montagu was a British Naval officer who saw considerable service in the latter half of the nineteenth century, including during war with Russia, China and the famous Indian Mutiny of 1857. Collated, complete with six illustrated plates, including a portrait frontispiece of the author with a facsimile of his signature. With publisher's advertisements to the rear of the text.

Condition

In the publisher's original blue cloth binding. Externally, slightly bumped to extremities and head and tail of spine. Slight handling marks to boards. Slight offsetting to endpapers. Small closed tear to fore edge of front free-endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages slightly age toned but bright and clean throughout, with the odd light spot to the occasional page.
