Illustrated with twenty-five colour images. Collated complete. A collection of the fables attributed to Aesop, a Greek fabulist and storyteller noted for his tales characterized by anthropomorphic animal characters. Many of the tales credited to him were gathered across the centuries and in many languages in a storytelling tradition that continues to this day. The collection of stories are re-written in simple language and includes titles such as: Bad Dog, Cock and the Jewel, Field Mouse and the Town Mouse, Fox and the Crow, and Hare and the Tortoise, amongst others. Illustrated by Harrison William Weir, a British artist. Dated from the British Library.
Condition
In the original quarter cloth binding with pictorial paper covered boards. Externally, sound with light bumping to the extremities and spotting to the boards. Minor discolouration to the board edges with the odd small spot. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with the odd small spot. Light spotting to the first and last few pages with age toning to the endpapers.
