This set is numbered seven hundred and forty-three. The collected works of William Morris, an English textile designer, poet, artist, writer, and socialist activist associated with the British Arts and Crafts movement. Morris was a major contributor to the revival of traditional British textile arts and methods of production, and his literary contributions helped to establish the modern fantasy genre. As such, he is recognised as one of the most significant cultural figures of Victorian Britain. Condition
In the original quarter cloth binding. Externally, sound with light rubbing and bumping to the extremities. Light fading to the spines with the odd small mark to the boards. Light loss to the spine labels from chipping with almost complete loss to the spine label of volume XX. A crease to the rear board of volume II. Front hinge just starting but firm to volume XXI. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with the odd small spot or handling mark. The odd small pencil annotation. Light age toning to the extremities.
