Collated, lacking the frontispiece, and the plate to face page 94, and page vii-viii.
'The Ingoldsby Legends' is a collection of whimsical legends, myths, and ghost stories by Thomas Ingoldsby, the pen-name of clergyman Richard Harris Barham.
By Thomas Ingoldsby, the pen name for Richard Barham. Barham was a cleric of the Church of England, and is best known for this work. Barham was also known for his contributions to the 'Edinburgh Review' and the 'Literary Gazette'.
Condition
In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, generally smart. Spine and extremities are faded. Minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Small tears to the head and tail of the rear joint, and to the head and tail of the spine. Light marks to the boards and spine. Front hinge is strained. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pages are bright and generally clean with some spots. Lacking the frontispiece and the plate to face page 94, and page vii-viii. Chip to the tissue guard of the frontispiece.
