This work was written by the noted Robert Burns, the Scottish poet.This poem was first published in 'Poems, Chiefly in the Scottish Dialect' in 1786', with this being the first edition to be illustrated by Rackham, one of the most important illustrators of his time.

In the publisher's original pictorial hardback. Externally generally smart with front joint starting with a closed tear to the front joint and a very small closed tear to the rear joint, marks to the boards, bumping and wear to the extremities and age toning to the boards and spine. Age toning to the endpapers with front free endpaper disbound but present. Internally binding tender in places. Pages age toned and clean.
