As they reach the Forest of Arden, they encounter a variety of memorable characters. With a summary of the story included, as well as the play itself. Written by William Shakespeare, an English playwright, poet and actor widely regarded as the greatest writer in the English language and the world's pre-eminent dramatist. Illustrated by Hugh Thomson, a British Illustrator best known for his pen-and-ink illustrations of works by authors such as Jane Austen, Charles Dickens, and J. M. Barrie.
Condition
In the original green cloth binding with gilt. Externally, smart with light rubbing and bumping to the extremities. Fading and spotting to the spine with the odd small mark to the boards. A 1.5" split and other minor splits in the cloth to the rear joint. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean. Minor spotting and light age toning to the endpapers. With a contemporary ink inscription to the front endpaper dated 1909.
