'Principles of Political Economy' is an incredibly important work on political economics, one of the most important on the subject published in the nineteenth century. 

In this work, Mill discusses the ways in which nations can benefit in a system of trade, and criticises the proposed ideas of communism and socialism. 

In contrast to other such textbooks of the time, Mill's work is noted for being written in an admirable style of prose, devoid of mathematical graphs and formulae. 

John Stuart Mill was a philosopher, political economist, and Member of Parliament. He's considered to be the most influential English philosopher of the nineteenth century.
