French. Fifth edition. With the vanishingly scarce original unclipped dust wrapper. With a frontispiece. A general sketch of the history and origin of religions, with a detailed index to the rear. Written by Salomon Reinach, a French archaeologist, religious historian and a major figure in the Franco-Jewish establishment in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.

Condition

In the original full calf binding. Externally, smart with rubbing and light bumping to the extremities Light fading to the spine with the odd small mark to the boards. Minor loss to the head and tail of the spine. Original unclipped dust wrapper is also smart with light wear and chipping to the extremities. Sunning to the spine and panel edges with the odd small mark. Minor loss to the head and tail of the spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with the odd small spot. Minor age toning to the endpapers.
