A detailed military history of the Marshal of France, containing detailed biographical sketches of the twenty-four marshals appointed by Napoleon Bonaparte. The title is a French military distinction, rather than a military rank, that is awarded to generals for exceptional achievements. Written by Richard Phillipson Dunn Pattison, a British soldier and academic historian specialising in military history.

Condition

In the original full cloth binding. Externally, sound with light rubbing and bumping to the extremities. Light fading to the spine and board edges. With small splits in the cloth to the joints. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with light scattered spotting. Light age toning to the extremities.
