Written by Colonel Willoughby Verner, a British soldier, writer and ornithologist. He became the official historian of the Rifle Brigade and is notably remembered for bringing Cueva de la Pileta to international attention.
Illustrated with a frontispiece, twenty-seven plates and many in-text photographs and vignettes. With a large folding plate of a cliff nesting station to the rear. Collated, complete.
Condition
In the publisher's cloth binding. Externally, with water marks to the spine and rubbing to the extremities. Smaller damp spots to the boards. Front gutter partially cracked. Internally, firmly bound. Pages generally bright and clean with light spotting to the first and last few leaves.
