    Charles Kingsley's historical fiction novel set in the Elizabethan era, fictionalising the life of the privateer Amyas Preston, who sets sail with Francis Drake and Walter Raleigh.

    Illustrated with a frontispiece, and seven plates.

    Collated, bound without the half-title, all plates are present.

    Prize label to the front paste down, dated July 1908.

    Condition

    In a full calf prize binding. Externally, generally smart, a little rubbed, heavier to the spine. Minor bumping to the extremities. Light marks to the boards. Spine is a little faded. Prize label to the front paste down. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean. Pencil annotations to the margins.
