A set of first edition, original single issues of 'The Strand Magazine'. The set includes: 

'Vol. XXXV, March 1908, No. 207', 'Vol. XXXV, April 1908, No. 208'; 'Vol. XXXV, May 1908, No. 209'; 'Vol XXXV, June 1908, No. 210'; Vol XXXVI, July 1908, No. 211'; Vol. XXXVI, August 1908, No. 212 ( A Special Summer Fiction Number); Vol. XXXVI, September 1908, No. 213', 'Vol. XXXVI, October 1908, No. 214', and 'Vol. XXXVI, November 1908, No. 215'.

Illustrated with many monochrome vignettes and full page illustrations, a monochrome plate to each volume, and eight colour plates to 'No. 207', and five colour illustrations to 'No. 208'. 

A fantastic set of single issues of the renowned 'Strand Magazine', a literary magazine which published various short stories, and is best known for being the birth place of the celebrated 'Sherlock Holmes' stories by Arthur Conan Doyle.

This set features notable first appearances of several important works, such as; Winston Churchill's 'My African Journey' found in issues No. 207-210, and Arthur Conan Doyle's short story, 'The Pot of Caviare' to No. 207'. Other notable issues found in this set are No. 213-214 which include both parts of Doyle's 'A Reminiscence of Mr Sherlock Holmes', two short stories featuring the popular detective Sherlock Holmes, also known as 'The Adventure or Wisteria Lodge', and 'The Money Spider' by E. Phillips Oppenheim found in No. 215.
