Bound in the publisher's original cloth with a large pictorial label applied to the front cover.
The first children's novelty book produced by American artist and author, Peter Newell, who went on to create numerous picture books. His humorous depictions often appeared in Harper's Magazines, as well as providing illustrations for many new editions of children's books.
This particular work shows the journey of a bullet as it travels many different scenes in the book, narrowly avoiding the other characters. The wayward bullet was fired accidentally by a young boy names Tom Potts, and went on the disturb a laundry room, a child playing outside, a car, and artist, and many others.
With an ink inscription to Bryan from Mrs Jansey.
Condition
Bound in the publisher's original cloth. Externally, generally smart, with light bumping to the extremities and spine, with the odd mark to boards. Ink inscription to the front paste down. Internally firmly bound. Pages are generally bright and clean, with a circular mark to the first twenty-two pages, not affecting the text. The odd handling mark throughout, with a few tears to the page extremities.
