First edition. Illustrated with seven maps and sketches, including three folding maps. Lacking one folding map to face page 300. Detailing the period leading up to the Battle of Waterloo, followed by the battle itself and comments on the war up to the 18th June. With reference to Napoleon's escape from Elba, preparations for war, comments on the Battle of Waterloo, Grouchy's advance to Wavre, and Wellington's dispatch to the Earl Bathurst. Written by Lieutenant-Colonel W. H. James, a British military officer and historian.

Condition

In the original full cloth binding. Externally, smart with light rubbing and minor bumping to the extremities. Small splits in the cloth to the head of the spine resulting in minor loss. Hinges just starting but firm. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with light scattered spotting to the first and last few pages.
