Illustrated with a frontispiece and a further thirty-nine tipped in colour plates - with tissue guard - from celebrated illustrator Edmund Dulac.
Collated, complete.
Probably written between 1610 and 1611, and one of Shakespeare's final plays, this tale is set on a remote island where a magician named Prospero lives with his daughter, Miranda, and two servants: Caliban, a savage monster, and Ariel, an airy spirit.
Condition
In the publisher's original cloth binding, with gilt detailing. Externally, vibrant. Light shelf wear to back strip tail, with centre of front joint starting, and with light fraying in this location. Board firmly held. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pages clean and bright, with the odd spot.
