First edition copy of Letters of James Boswell to the Rev W. J. Temple, with an introduction by Thomas Seccombe. 

The letters contained within this volume were written between 1758 and 1795 by Boswell. 

James Boswell was a Scottish biographer, diarist and lawyer born in Edinburgh and is best known for his biography of his friend and fellow writer Samuel Johnson.

Condition

In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, generally smart with some light bumping to the spine and some light marks to the boards. Front hinge is starting and is loosening. Internally, generally firmly bound with bright pages with some scattered spots to the first and last few pages.
