Illustrated with thirty-one monochrome plates. The frontispiece is missing from the work. Collated complete. 

A vibrantly descriptive account of Little's travels in China, where the author had eventually settled. Mrs Archibald Little, born in 1845, became best known for her travel writing and campaign against the Chinese custom of foot-binding.

This work includes a chapter on her 'anti foot-binding tour' to Hankow, Wuchang, Han-Yang, Canton and Hong-Kong.

Condition

In the original cloth binding. Externally, smart. With rubbing and bumping to the extremities. Hinges are tender but firm. Spine is slightly sunned with marks to the boards. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright and clean with offsetting to the endpapers and the odd spot.
