Illustrated with a full colour frontispiece, vignettes and 64 photographic plates including 7 full colour plates and 2 maps. Collated, missing plate facing page 118.

This work was written by American zoologist and author William T. Hornaday. This work provides an account of an expedition to the Pinacate region where they studied the animals, plant life and geology in the area.

Condition

In the publisher's original cloth. Externally generally smart with fading to the illustration to the front board and spine, bumping and slight rubbing to the extremities, closed tears to the tail of the spine and the odd minor mark to the boards and spine. Hinges starting with a prize bookplate from the 'Montgomerie Memorial Fund' to the font pastedown with minor marks to the endpapers. Internally binding starting in places with page 155 disbound but present with generally bright and clean pages with only very light age toning and the odd minor spot.
