'Bordeaux et Ses Vins', now commonly known as 'Cocks & Feret', provides an extensive and authoritative guide to the wines of Bordeaux, organising them by their merit. This copy provides detailed information on the region's vineyards and estates, placing the wines in their historical context and exploring their defining characteristics. 

This work is richly illustrated with approximately 700 black and white facsimile engravings, photographs and maps. This edition also includes 10 fold-out colour maps, including a fold-out colour map frontispiece from the département de la Gironde. Collated, complete.

Condition

In the publisher's original red cloth binding. Externally, generally smart. Handling marks and slight rubbing to boards. Slight bumping and rubbing to extremities. Rubbing especially to the spine and joints, resulting in slight loss of red cloth. Hinges strained. Front free endpaper, with previous owner's inscription, closed tear, slight damp staining and worming has come loose. Endpapers particularly age toned. Rear free end paper has one or two chips to edge and a closed tear to joint, threatening to come loose. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and clean, if a little age toned. Fold-out maps particularly age toned. The odd spot, loser to fore edge. One or two handling marks to fore edge.
