English and Japanese text. First edition. Very scarce. With six folding maps to the rear. Collated complete. A detailed and concise reference book of eight-thousand tribe names, across all countries, according to their race and locality. Being the first dictionary of its kind, intended to confirm the distribution of races and peoples in the past and present times, with meanings of terms provided. Written by Akira Matsumura, a Japanese scholar and secretary of the Anthropological Institute of Tokyo.

Condition

In the original full blue cloth binding. Externally, smart with light rubbing and minor bumping to the extremities. Minor fading to the spine. Library ink mark to the tail of the spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean with the odd small spot or handling mark. Age toning to the endpapers with a contemporary ink inscription to the front endpaper. College library bookplate and bookseller's label to the front pastedown with library ink stamps to the odd page.
