Published by the Calcutta Historical Society, the journal published pieces on military history, as well as pieces of interest on India and the country's history.

The journal was published quarterly between 1907 and 2012, the Society itself was founded in 1907.

Volume II: July 1908, and October 1908. Illustrated with one folding plate, and seventeen plates to July, and one folding plate, and twenty-seven plates to October. July is bound without two plates. Four pages to adverts to the rear of October. 

Volume III: April-June 1909, and Volume IV: July-December 1909. Illustrated with one folding plate and thirty-six plates to April-June, and three folding maps and twenty-three plates to July-December. Collated, complete.

Volume V: January-June 1910. Illustrated with a frontispiece, one folding map, one folding plate, one colour plate, and forty-three plates.

Volume VI: July-December 1910. Illustrated with fifty-six plates. Collated, complete.

Volume VIII: January-March 1914, and April-June 1914. Illustrated with fourteen plates to January-March, and nine to April-June. Collated, complete.
