    Bound in crushed half morocco with cloth to the boards. 

    This set features Lord Macaulay's 'History of England', which is known for its progressive conception of history, often called the Whig interpretation of history. As he describes the events of the seventeen year period from 1685 to 1702, incorporating the reign of James II, the Glorious Revolution, and the coregency of William of Orange and Mary II, Macaulay argues that England overcame superstition and autocracy to create a balanced constitution. Lord Macaulay was a British historian and Whig politician, who served as War Secretary between 1839 and 1841.

    Condition

    Bound in crushed half morocco with cloth to the boards. Externally very smart with only very slight fading to the spines, slight marks to the boards and label residue to the rear board to one volume. Minimal offsetting to the extremities of the endpapers. Internally firmly bound with generally clean pages with occasional light spotting and minimal age toning.
