A historical account of the health and sanitary conditions in London, by Henry Jephson. The work covers the evolution of the health and living conditions of Londoners from 1850-1906, covering the sewers, water quality, food, medicine and more.

Previously owned by Henry Burdett with his owner's stamp to the front free endpaper. Burdett was an English financier and philanthropist who wrote several works on hospitals.

Condition

In the publisher's original cloth. Externally smart with marks to the boards, and fading to the spine. Offsetting to the endpapers with an owner's stamp to the front free endpaper. Internally firmly bound with clean and generally bright pages.
