First edition. Illustrated with a frontispiece and forty-five plates. Collated complete. A history of Kent County Cricket, with contributions from several captains of the team and an account of every match played by the Kent Eleven with a summary of the performances of each player. Edited by Colonel George Robert Canning Harris, 4th Baron Harris, a British colonial administrator and Governor of Bombay, best known for developing cricket administration via Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC). He was an English amateur cricketer from 1870 to 1889 and played for Kent as well as England, captaining both teams. With an appendix to the rear, compiling details from Kent Cricket 1907 to 1909, dated 1910. Includes newspaper clippings regarding cricket in Kent.
Condition
In the original blue cloth binding. Externally, smart with light shelf wear and rubbing to the extremities. Fading to the spine and the odd mark to the boards. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with light scattered spotting, predominantly to the first and last few pages. Light age toning to the endpapers.
