Written by famed author and physician, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, best known for his Sherlock Holmes series.
Doyle had a strong interest in sport, in particular cricket, football and boxing. This can be seen to influence his stories, demonstrated in The Croxley Master, a great tale of the prized ring.This novella tells the story of fictional aspiring boxer, Mr Robert Montgomery.

In the publisher's original cloth binding with a colourful boxing motif to the front board. Externally, sound with slight rubbing. Lacking the majority of the backstrip, cords showing. Light marks to boards and bumping to the extremities. Tape reinforcing front hinge. Rear hinge loose, held on by cords only. Offsetting to endpapers, with label remnants to the front paste down and front endpaper. Bookseller label to the rear paste down. Internally, firmly bound. Pages generally bright and clean, with the occasional spotting.
