First Edition, Illustrated, Publishers' Original Binding, Uncommon
An uncommon work.
Comprising of forty-nine thick card leaves with printed illustrations from over twenty illustrators, with blank spaces intended to be filled by the photographs of the owner of the work.
The illustrations in this work offer an insight into sporting and outdoor pursuits in the early twentieth century, depicting horses and dogs, from a variety of works.
The printed illustrations include examples from C. E. Brock, Arthur Rackham and Lancelot Speed, with many being the work of Cecil Aldin.
A wonderful collection of original illustrations depicting England's sporting past, compiled by J. Harry Savory.
Collated, complete.
Condition
In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, smart. Spine is a little discoloured. A few light spots to the cloth. Ribbon ties are in full working order. Internally, generally firmly bound, a couple of leaves are detached but present. Pages are bright and clean, with a few scattered spots.
