James's work introduced pragmatism as a philosophy that evaluates truth based on practical consequences and usefulness. He is considered to be a leading thinker of the late 19th century, one of the most influential philosophers of the United States, and the "Father of American psychology."

In the publisher's original cloth binding. Back strip significantly age toned, with bump to spine tail. Small mark to tail of rear board, otherwise externally very smart. Internally, firmly bound. Pages clean and bright.
