Fiala was an American explorer, this work recounts his time on the Baldwin-Siegler Polar Expedition and the Ziegler Polar Expedition.

Condition

In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, smart. Light bumping to the spine and extremities. Minor marks and rubbing to the boards and spine. Front hinge is starting but firm. Prior owner's gift inscription to the verso to the front endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean. Large closed tear to the folding map.
