With four photogravures, one coloured plate and sixty-five monochrome plates. Collated complete.

Pen sketches throughout the work.

British naturalist and wildlife photographer Oliver G. Pike accounts his explorations and wonderful adventures amongst birds. He touches on areas such as the marshes, winter for birds and bird-life on a Welsh lake.

A film of a similar name 'Birdland' premiered in the same year of this publication, the first British wildlife film to be screened to a fee paying audience.

Condition

In full calf prize binding. Externally, generally smart with rubbing to the extremities. Fading to the spine and sections of the boards. Front hinges starting but firm. Prize bookplate to the front pastedown. Internally, frontispiece loose but generally firmly bound. Pages are generally bright and clean with the odd spot. Scattered spotting to the photogravures.
