Two volumes of 'Bengal: Past and Present (Journal of the Calcutta Historical Society)'. 

Published by the Calcutta Historical Society, the journal published pieces on military history, as well as pieces of interest on India and the country's history.

The journal was published quarterly between 1907 and 2012, the Society itself was founded in 1907.

Volume I: July 1907, and October 1907. Illustrated with eleven plates to July, and fifteen plates to October. Collated, complete.

Articles include 'Our Work' by Rev. W. K. Firminger, 'A Short History of Old Fort William in Bengal' by Dr. C. R. Wilson, 'The Town Hall Lotteries' by R. D., 'Lola Montez, the Story of a Fair Penitent' by E.W. M., 'The First Hospitals in Calcutta' by W. J. Buchanan, and more.

Volume II: January, 1908, and April 1908. Illustrated with twenty-six plates to January, and twenty-one plates to April. Collated, complete.

Articles include 'Bishop Wilson and the Second Earl of Clare' by W. K. F, 'The Opening of the East Indian Railway' by G. Condition

In the original paper covered boards. Externally, rubbed. Spines are faded. Lifting to the head of the spine of Volume I. Loss to the joints of Volume II. Bumping to the extremities. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean. Loss to the title page of July 1907. Plate facing page 150 in Volume I is detached but present.
