Illustrated with forty colour plates (twenty to each volume) and eight black-and-white drawings (four to each volume) by Stanley Inchbold. Collated, complete. 

A charming Syrian travel account covering Lebanon, Baalbek, Galilee, and Judaea, from Ada Alice Cunnick (later known as A. C. Inchbold), an English writer who predominately wrote romance novels. These travels were taken by both her and her husband, Stanley.

Condition

In the original cloth binding. Externally, very smart, with rubbing and bumping to the extremities. Contemporary prize bookplate to the front pastedowns. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright, with scattered spotting of varying degrees throughout. Offsetting to the front free endpapers due to bookplates.
