First edition. Very scarce work. Illustrated with a frontispiece, thirteen plates, and numerous decorations. Collated complete. A charming story following a group of young boys and girls as they experience their first formal ball, their first dances with each other, and, for some, a first kiss. Written by Grace MacGowan Cooke, a prolific American novelist, poet, and short-story writer who wrote over twenty-three novels, seventy-five short stories, and thirty poems. Illustrated by Peter Sheaf Hersey Newell, an American artist and writer.

Condition

I the original full red cloth binding. Externally, very smart with light rubbing to the extremities and fading to the spine. The odd small mark to the boards. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean. A contemporary ink inscription to the front endpaper.
