The second edition of this work in a half morocco binding, with the gilt crest of Cambridge Local Examination Hatcham Centre 1906 to the front board, and the gilt crest of Aske's Hatcham Schools to the rear board. Prize bookplate to the front paste down. This interesting work contains a history of the development of the railways around the world, with chapters on the Midland Railway, the Great Western Railway, the Canadian Pacific Railway, Indian railways, US railways, and transcontinental railways. Written by Archibald Williams, this history also gives an overview of the development of the locomotive and building railroads on difficult terrain.
Condition
In a half morocco binding. Externally smart, with just a little rubbing to the spine and extremities. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are a little age toned with the odd spot throughout.
