The second edition of volume IV of Alan Leo's 'Astrological Manuals'.
Alan Leo was an English astrologer, author, publisher, astrological data collector and theosophist. He is sometimes referred to as 'the father of modern astrology'. As a devout theosophist, he worked many of its religious concepts such as karma and reincarnation into his astrology.
This volume is co-authored with fellow astrologist H. S. Green.
This work includes discussion of the influence of the houses; the influence of rising signs on appearance; the sun, moon and planets; health and disease, and the influence of the signs and houses on matters of marriage and love.
First published in 1904, this work is very scarce in all early editions.
Condition
In the publisher's original cloth binding. Bumping to back strip head and tail, with slight discoloration to backstrap, and fore edge of front board. Internally, generally firmly bound, but with page 73 detached and loosely inserted. Pages clean and bright.
