1906 Harrods Illustrated
What Our Customers Say...
Description
Colour Plates, Illustrated, Publishers' Original Binding, Scarce
A scarce catalogue for Harrods for the year 1906, a wonderful look at the offerings of the luxury department store in Knightsbridge, London. This provides a fascinating look at Edwardian England, with what products were available and popular, and technology as it was then, with a detailed general index to the front.
This 1906 catalogue also includes an advert for "a soft jointed bear, the best toy made for infants", a teddy bear which had been introduced to Harrods earlier in the year, to a great show of interest to the public. The Harrods Bear, Henry, is a bear still sold today, a quintessential part of Harrods. Harrods Henry was the bear purchased by A. A. Milne for his son - the bear which went on to inspire Winnie-the-Pooh.
Fourteen pages of adverts to the front, and leaves of adverts throughout.
Illustrated with three colour plates, and extensive in-text engravings throughout.
