As well as this, Cox provides information on the hygiene, simple treatment of disease, common poisons and antidotes, and first aid, in relation to the terrier.

With beautiful colour plates tipped-in throughout, illustrated by Maud Earl, Margaret Collyer, Frances C. Fairman, Thomas Blinks, John Emms and Arthur Wardle. With twenty-four plates and a frontispiece. Collated, complete.

In the publisher's original half morocco binding, with red cloth to the boards. Externally, smart, with light rubbing and bumping to the extremities. Boards are slightly marked, with a white mark to the head of the rear board. Bookseller label to the front paste down. Hinges have been reinforced. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pages generally bright, with scattered spotting throughout, heavier to the first and last pages and to the fore edge.
