Illustrations include twelve colour plates and numerous other black-and-white plates and in-text illustrations.
This is a wonderful collection containing the fifty-two periodicals published for the Chatterbox children's magazine in 1906. These issues contain a range of short stories and poetry for young children, accompanied by entertaining illustrations.
Contents include 'A Modern Wizard', 'A Turkey's Costly Diet', 'Feathered Friendship', 'The Duck-Billed Platypus', and 'The Sugar Maple'.
Chatterbox was a children's magazine, first published in 1866, and founded by J. Erskine Clarke (1827-1920). Clarke was a British clergyman who issued the first parish magazine and founded a range of churches and schools in Battersea.

Condition
Bound in cloth with gilt illustration to board. Externally, very smart. Minimal edge wear to extremities with light bumps to the head and tail of spine. Gilt illustration on front board has faded very lightly. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean throughout, with light age-toning to margins.
