The first edition. 

A collection of fourteen monochrome line drawings, with an illustrated title page and half title. Collated, complete. 

An uncommon collection of Art Nouveau style line drawings from Jessie M. King depicting trees, plants and blossoms. Jessie M. King was a noted Scottish illustrator who was best known for her charming illustrated children's books, and for being a pioneer in the use of Batik in the UK.

Bound in half calf with marbled paper to the boards by Anthony Baron with his binder's signature to the rear pastedown. Endpapers and blanks renewed, half title retained.

Condition

Bound in half calf with marbled paper to the boards. Endpapers and blanks renewed, half title retained. Illustration from the original wrap bound in to the front. Externally very smart with fading to the spine and head of the front board. Binder's stamp to the rear pastedown. Internally firmly bound, with a very minimal age toning and a small tidemark to the half title, otherwise bright and clean.
