German. Very scarce work. Illustrated with a colour frontispiece, eight colour plates, and numerous in-text images many of which are in colour. Collated complete. A collection of new and old stories following the adventures, deeds, and opinions of the character of Appelschnut, whose real name was Senta-Regina Moller-Ernst, the daughter of the poet Otto Ernst. Her father nicknamed her "Appelschnut" (apple mouth), and used this title to create stories describing his youngest daughter's childhood. The warm and humorous texts appeared in multiple editions and as reprints. Written by Otto Ernst, a German poet and writer. Illustrated by Richard Scholz, a German painter and illustrator.

Condition

In the original full cloth binding. Externally, smart with light rubbing to the extremities and the odd small mark to the boards. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with the odd small spot and minor age toning to the extremities.
